Declaring my greatness

Dear readers,

the past weeks were turbulent weeks, but they brought awesome change! I quit my internship at a Fortune 500 company to chase after my dreams. I finally had the courage to take that step. Sadly, my parents did not welcome this step as much as I did and decided that I am on my own now. So, there’s a lot of work to do, a lot of figuring stuff out to do, and some more stuffy stuff. But I feel great. I finally am chasing my dreams. I feel bad because I have neglected my blog. I realize that I don’t have a couple of thousand followers, but letting down one is enough. I will try to post more regularly now. There’s a lot to share, and a lot of new, awesome experiences.

Catch you later.

Atheists of the world, speak up!

The world is going nuts. Reason has left human kind. People are trapped in their traumatized heads. Decision making has been made someone else’s job. People follow blindly without questioning.

Atheists of the world, we have to bring back reason to this world and stop this madness NOW!

I’d love to tell you to go out and punch the first person in the face that is holding his “holy book” up and yelling some irrational nonsense.. but that’s not welcomed apparently, and sadly. Religion has a right to be practiced, because it is one of humans’ rights and bla bla bla….

The thing is that those hardcore religious people who take their nonsense gig waaaaaay too seriously don’t give a crap about their fellow humans’ rights. Nope. They go still go ahead – or behead – and kill in the name of their god. But raise your voice against religion, I dare you, I double dare you, mofo! People will go bananas! “HEY, how can you speak against my belief in god?” Actually, it’s pretty easy. All you have to do is put your arms in the air and wave them like you just don’t care.

Man, I’m done trying to speak rationally with these people. I adapted this kind of Ricky Gervais/ Louis C.K. attitude where I just make fun of them. And it feels pretty good, yeah.

So, right. Atheists, speak up. Go crack a joke that goes something like this: “Allah, Jesus and Buddha walk into a bar…”. Go make fun of people who think that their religion is the one and only important thing on earth. Ridicule them! I have stopped giving a F about them. My F’s are limited. I have to use them wisely. So should you.

Amen.

What’s up with all the hate on our planet?

Have you noticed? Human beings hate each other. OMG, or should I say, oh-my-Allah/Buddha/cosmic teapot (great one Russell)! WTF is up with that?

Yesterday, I clicked through one of Germany’s news channels (NTV) to update my knowledge on the latest topics. That’s something I had given up in the past, because all I really got to see were dead bodies, statistics of dead people, news on new wars being fought, and so on. Nevertheless, I thought it would be a good idea as I start working at a big, awesome, German company next Monday (f*ck yeah I’m excited!). And BOOM, I wasn’t disappointed.

The first 5 topics were news on Obama’s speech about bombing Iraq and Syria, terrorists being caught at English airports, chopped-up body pieces found in a garage in Germany, an interview about the beheading-videos, and a statistic about how pessimistic people have become. Haha that last one was a good one as my girlfriend and I were joking about the negative wave of news, and BAZINGA!, the “pessimistic post” came up.

We talked about it later on. Precisely, we were wondering how people could get anything BUT pessimistic with all the negative media coverage? I mean, sure, shit is happening all around us all the time, but do we really have to cover that in such great detail? How the heck are we supposed to be good human beings when all we hear is “hey, that neighbor next to your country, yeah that one, kill him, KILL HIM!”?

What I would love to see is the following: Stop broadcasting so much negative, heart-wrecking news. If that is not possible (as it is pretty profitable because people LOVE to see that), STOP WATCHING IT. Honestly, stop following the news for a while. I’ve done it in the past and I am doing it again. I’ve got to say, I’m not missing out so much. If there’s something important going on, I will notice it sooner or later. Plus, it gives me so much time and mental capacity to concentrate on way more important things like reading a book from Richard Dawkins, watching videos on my favourite youtube channels such as BigThink or VSauce, or having a deep conversation with my best friend on physics and evolution.

It’s sad to see how blind hate makes us. Screaming and killing fellow humans in the name of a god… wtf is wrong with us? Stop this madness. Lay aside your bible, your koran, your torah for a while and wonder about the beautiful things that are really worth wondering about.

It is paradoxical, yet true, to say, that the more we know, the more ignorant we become in the absolute sense, for it is only through enlightenment that we become conscious of our limitations. Precisely one of the most gratifying results of intellectual evolution is the continuous opening up of new and greater prospects.” – Nikola Tesla

Religion is capable of driving people to such dangerous folly that faith seems to me to qualify as a kind of mental illness.” – Richard Dawkins

Richard Branson, Thomas Watson, Sr., and Kevin Stirtz on business success

“A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts.” – Richard Branson (very successful British entrepreneur and one of my favorites)

“To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart.” – Thomas Watson, Sr. (American business man, CEO of IBM from 1914-1956)

“The secret to success in business, and in life, is to serve others. Put others first in all you do.” – Kevin Stirtz (Digital Marketing Expert)

Johann Wolfang von Goethe on potential

“When we treat man as he is, we make him worse than he is; when we treat him as if he already were what he potentially could be, we make him what he should be.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

This beautiful quote was presented to me by Viktor Frankl in one youtube video I found. In this video, Viktor Frankl, a psychiatrist and survivor of the nazi concentration camp, talked about a man’s search for meaning. He explained that in aviation, pilots aim not directly on their destination when their is wind. They aim a percentage more above or below their destination. They do this to adjust against the drift caused by wind.

Mr. Frankl explains that if we don’t recognize a young man’s search for meaning we make him worse. We make him worse, we make him dull and we add to his frustration. He stresses that we have to recognize his search, we have to recognize his spark and then we will elicit it from him. We will make him become what he, in principle, is capable of becoming.

My take-away from is simple and challenging at the same time. When we interact with people we usually see them as they are. We see what they do, how they act, how they talk and treat them accordingly. If, though, we make the effort and see through their current surface and get a glimpse of their potential self we will help them to become that self. This is easy to write on a blog, I’m interested how I will adapt this to myself. I’m also interested in your experiences, leave a comment if you want to share.

How to get a guy’s phone number

This one is for you ladies. I’m a 23-years-old boy who’s been pretty successful with women. Most of the times I was the one taking the necessary steps, but from time to time a girl would approach me and get so deep inside of my head that I would do pretty much anything for her. I thought back about those times and, in particular, thought about the “techniques” girls used on me to GET MY PHONE NUMBER. 99% of the time, this is how it went down:

1) Make and hold eye contact. Approaching guys is very different to approaching girls. A guy can just come up to a girl, try a cheesy or not-so-cheesy line, ask a simple question or tip her on the shoulder to start a conversation. A girl can do that, as well, BUT, it can come across as super needy super fast. That’s why eye contact is very important. When trying to get noticed by a guy, I would say that eye contact it THE MOST IMPORTANT weapon. Don’t stare at him, but risk a glance from time to time. When the time comes and your eyes meet, your chances of talking to that guy will DOUBLE if you…

2) SMILE! This has been proven by scientists and pretty much any other person interacting with people. A nice smile on your face simply makes you MORE ATTRACTIVE. In a study done by a communication company one half of the sales staff was instructed to smile during their calls, the other half communicated as they always would. Can you guess what happened? Even with no visionary aid, the phone calls done by the sales staff WITH THE SMILE were exceedingly more successful than the other sales calls. Attracting guys works very similar. Make eye contact, give him a nice smile and…

3) WAIT and conquer him. Talking from experience, I would say that 75% of the time THE GUY WILL APPROACH YOU if you mastered the first two steps. If not, here’s what you need to do. Make sure that you built eye contact, that you gave him a wonderful, pretty smile and that he responded to you by smiling back, winking, or anything that would translate in “hey pretty, I noticed you, and….”. If you got that far COMMAND HIM OVER. I can’t express how cool, exhilarating, and exciting it was when I got asked to approach the girl. This is what she would do: She looked me in the eyes, gave me a sexy, nice, seductive smile, and did the “come over here” with her finger. That blew me away. I was so excited and my pulse was on max. From there on she pretty much had the power to do anything. She asked me for my phone number and the party eventually continued from there on.

I know I wanted to give you a technique to show how to get a guy’s phone number. But this is sooooo good you can use it for so much more. So: Master the 3 steps, practice them, go over them in your head and then nail them! Enjoy 🙂
